Sixth House Analysis in Forensic Charts

As you may have noticed in my analysis of the forensic charts on the blog, I often define sixth house placements as indicating illness, sickness or danger. This is often because the Sun is hyleg in all forensic charts so if the Sun is positioned here, in the last 5 degrees of the house, it’s not a good sign.  Any planet found in the last 5 degrees of this house is hyleg by position and can be a sign of danger to life.  But the sixth house has other connotations and, of course, this will depend upon other placements.  If there are other career indicators then you may read the sixth house as work.  In charts where the first house ruler is in the tenth and disposed of by a planet in the sixth, for instance, you could interpret this to mean the subject is at his or her place of employment.  But if the first house ruler or seventh house ruler has moved into the sixth and is shadowed by sharp aspects or is disposed of by planets in poor positions, the prognosis is not good.

In traditional readings for runaway children, if the child’s ruler is in the sixth house, the child is gone for good.  If the ruler of the fifth house, as well, is in the sixth, the child will never be seen again.  And if the child’s ruler is also poorly placed and sharply aspected, you can expect the child to be dead.  In charts where the rulers suddenly move into the sixth after leaving the seventh house, then the subject is in danger from the person in their company.  This is especially so if the seventh house ruler is aspecting the placement or the ruling planet is disposed of by the seventh house ruler.  The sixth house becomes a real deadly place to be when the planet in question is under great stress and other planets point to danger or death.  Oppositions from powerful, slow moving planets in the twelfth can indicate danger in confinement.

Look for fixed stars in the sixth house and see if other planets make aspects.  If the Moon is moving through the sixth and translating light to other planets, those planets will define the kind of danger that the subject is faced with.  Sometimes the translation of light will describe those people that present the danger, as well.  As an example, the Moon moves through the sixth and translates light from a square to Pluto towards a trine with Mars.  You can pretty much assume the people threatening the subject are violent, capable of assault or rape and probably male.  You can fear rape is possible if either Pluto or Mars is in the fifth or eighth houses.

The number one sign of death by murder is Caput Algol positioned in the sixth house conjoined to any planet in the last five degrees of the house.  Essentially this would require the sixth house to be housed by Taurus with 25 degrees or less on the cusp and for other planets to be in the final decan of Taurus as well.  If these planets are Mars, Pluto, Saturn or the Node, this is a harbinger of grave danger.  This is also true if these planets are the rulers of the eighth, twelfth or fourth houses.  A combination of any of the above would be decisive.

The sixth house can have work or general health connotations, as well. So you must be careful when reading it.  If aspects with other planets indicate work or health issues then the reading should go in this direction.  Often the sixth sector will house the first house ruler in the parents chart after a child went missing while the parent was at work.  If planets in the sixth house point at health issues, as well, perhaps they were working at a doctors office or clinics.  Don’t go with hospitals unless you see factors involving the twelfth house at the same time.  I have seen the sixth house placement in many charts I have analyzed, including the Haleigh Cummings, Cleashindra Hall and Peggy Sue Ashley cases.  In the Hall chart, it was easily seen that not only was she at work but at a medical office, as well.

Sometimes the sixth house points to illness or sickness that occurs after the abduction or kidnapping.  Combined with drug or alcohol aspects can indicate overdosing or being sick as a result of drugging or poisoning.  In fact, poison as a weapon in murder cases is seen most often in the sixth house.  The Dane Williams case described work very clearly as the young man was on a trip related to his job.  But then it also described sickness later on, as the boy was then forced to drink or take drugs.  His severe illness was clearly described by aspects to the sixth house.

Draw up a chart for a known murder case.  Go over it for sixth house planets and aspects.  Move it forward and backward and see if the sixth house comes into play.  If not, then try other cases with just the goal of finding one with sixth house elements.  Try to read the meanings of the sixth house in the case in question and then compare your findings to the known facts.  There is nothing better for the Astrologer than to take the findings and compare it to the facts.  This is the one area where Astrology supercedes other metaphysical sciences.  With all the others, you can read the past but it’s hard to see what indicators were at play.  In Astrology you can do this.  And this is what makes it such a promising forensic tool.
